Just think of the difference between our ability to send probes vs. I assume that's what the descriptions are going for.ĪI is infinitely more suited to space than meatbags, not hard to see why. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C. But maybe that is what the Omega are, malevolent spirits, immaterial persons with minds and emotions and wills of their own, exerting some kind of telepathic control over material ships and AI cores? Having browsed these forums and the discord on and off for a few years it seems like most people are reluctant to explore the possibility that, in the Starsector universe, spirits exist. Are they demons? Fallen angels? Luddism is said to have descended from "Abrahamic" religions, Christianity/Islam/Judaism, and they tell us that spiritual beings - intelligent non-human persons without physical bodies - do exist. But all of the lore surrounding them, talk about violating the laws of physics, equating Omega technology with magic, the verses from the Book of Ludd, etc, makes me wonder. They are super-powerful AI ships with super-powerful AI cores, beyond even the Alpha Cores. Are they simply a more advanced form of AI, created by the Remnant or Tri Tachyon? Are they non-human aliens? Are they some kind of spiritual being that has crossed into the material dimension and taken over ships?Īt first glance, Omega seems like the next step in the Remnant's evolution. What can you guys tell me about Omega? Admittedly I have not exhausted the Omega content yet. If you don't know then like I said in the title, "huge spoilers", you'll enjoy learning about this by playing the game much more than having us spoil it for you.ġ) How did the Remnant spread so far outside of the Core Systems? How do they have so many fleets in so many systems? Why isn't their economy explained?Ģ) Why aren't they more aggressive against the Core Systems? Does their programming cause them to act in a defensive manner? Are the Remnant not dedicated to wiping out some specified enemy, but rather, following some kind of colonization/parameter defense protocol programmed into them by Tri Tachyon?ģ) If Tri Tachyon has/had the resources and expertise to create these monsters, why do they struggle so much against the Hegemony and its allies? Is it simply because they cannot control their own creations? They made Skynet and Skynet gave them the finger, and now Tri Tachyon is up ***'s Creek without a paddle?Ĥ) This one is more than a simple question, I'm positing a theory here. The people of this city love pickles: gherkins, olives, marinades.Anyone who has played Starsector all the way through knows the story of the Remnant. "Casquería", or alternative meats include: fried giblets, sweetbreads, etc., and are typical Madrid dishes. With regards poultry, the most popular is chicken. With the Court established in Madrid, game became popular, including wild boar, fallow deer, and especially partridge and pheasant. But Madrid and its surrounds are a real paradise for meat lovers.īasque and Castilian carveries have started to spring up throughout the region, which have granted the T-bone steak and the suckling pig the right to exist in the area. At Christmas, the most typical dish is red bream, which is currently in competition with hake and sea bass. The city receives fish and seafood from nearly every harbour in Spain, given the fact that it is practically equidistant from all of them. Seafood is not only present in the tapas of Madrid. Others which have acquired special status are the lentil, which is eaten with "chorizo", and the haricot bean. However, the chickpea is not the only legume used in Madrid's cooking. It is in fact used in many more traditional dishes other than the "cocido", such as the chickpea and vegetable stew and is often served with spinach and cod. As a result the chickpea has become the most valued pulse in the region. " Cocido madrileño" could be defined as a combination of all the "cocidos" prepared in the rest of Spain and even America and its preparation depends more on the availability of products and the climate than anything else.
